Beach to the right?

Has anyone ventured away from the crowd/main area to the right? I've seen everyone talk about going towards Governor's beach and that to the right is rocky.

I have my own snorkel equipment and water shoes, and I'm interested to know if there might be more to see and less murky-ness in the other direction. We will be there with 2 ships in port and I'm not so big on crowded beach time. I'd also like to swim and snorkel a little and I don't mind if its not too wow.

I don't want to do an excursion since I just want a relaxing day.

Thanks in advance :D

Yes, by all means go to the right.

At that tip of the island is the conch graveyard, I've seen people snorkeling off shore a bit there.

If you continue around the point, there is a magnificent beach, more for sunning and swimming, tho, too rough for snorkeling. It is just beautiful over there.

You will want your water shoes to go in the water around the point, as I recall, but not a big deal, those big rock and coral areas are where the fish are, not on pristine sandy beach areas.

I have not gone to Governor's , but I remember that the beach to the right does (did) not have services, it was undeveloped, which is what I found charming and beautiful about it.

Frankly, the island is small enough, you can walk around the point to the right and back in about 15 minutes. If it is not what you are looking for, walk back to the cruise center, and get transportation (or walk, not sure how far it is) to Governor's instead.
