Halloween

Hmmmmm, I couldnt decide where to put this and thought maybe those who frequent these threads might have some answers and ideas.

What is a cruise like when Halloween falls while on board? What are the ships decorated like? I know I have seen pics of kids activities but what else might the cruiselines do differently on that day for all pax?? Are the drinks bubbling over and are they themed names....? Are the cookies orange? Are ships decorated with pumpkins? Im sure there are folks who dress up....adults and kids alike....what percentage of adults...? Crew do anything.... costume-wise?

We're thinking of a Halloween cruise. Any feedback would be great and so would pictures!

Thank-you.jpg

My fiancee and I went on Carnival Inspiration for hallloween in 2007 and they had a costume contest and encouraged guests to come dressed up in costume for dinner. No crazy drinks or anything...however we missed the costume contest. We ended up falling asleep, we were so disappointed!

My Halloween cruise had to be my absolute favorite. The whole Promenade deck was decorated with all kinds of things. Really, really fun to see. My group wore costumes to dinner; nothing weird on the menu. After dinner there was a costume parade on the Promenade where a select few were chosen to participate in the contest. The costume contest was during the show that evening and was hilarious. Later on at night, there was a costumed dance party up on deck.

Let me say this...my Halloween cruise was the only time I ever bought a cruise DVD and I'm so glad I did.

We're scheduled for a Murdery Mystery cruise over Halloween (next year). So in addition to our Halloween costumes, we'll have our MM costumes. This will be our first Halloween on a cruise but our MM buddies say it's the best!! You should check out whodunitcruises.com to see what they have planned for Halloween this year.

We just went on our first Halloween cruise and had a BLAST! Carnival did a great job getting everyone in the spirit by having decorations everywhere, there was a pumpkin carving contest, costume contest, specialty portrait backgrounds, a haunted house, themed desserts, and themed drinks. My favorite was the sharktini-it had a gummy shark in a blue martini with a splash of grenadine at the bottom that looked like blood, creepy but cool. The staff got all dressed up and I would say at least 80% of the passengers wore costumes too! We were pirates! ARRR!!!

I'm already researching which ship next year....thinking about the Sensation!

This is a post worth resurrecting ! A friend and I will be on the Imagination on our way back from the Bahamas for Halloween. I too wonder what's in store for us. I'd like to be prepared, and not miss out on the fun! I think the cruise lines should post any "events" planned for sailings

We will be on Liberty Of the Seas doing a T/A from Barcelona to Ft Lauderdale. We leave on October 27,2012. Was wondering who has done this T/A during Halloween & what activities were planned? Since this is a T/A, children will be at a minimum so what will be planned for all the fun adults on the cruise?:p

We have been on three Halloween cruises and will be on another one this year. So have had two NCL and Two RCL. The one NCL Sun was by far the best. We had a huge party in our suite 18 to 20 people. Our Butler brought in all kinds of goodies from peel and eat shrimp, veggies, chips & dip and we had ordered a bar set-up so we had mixer brought in so I could mix up my witches brew. The steward rearranged furniture and brought in more for the balcony.

After we had our appetizers we all went to the MDR for dinner ---ALL in costume. We could hardly get to our table for all the picture taking going on. We have won three times with our costumes and sorry to say do not want to post pix as we still take them with us, but will say we are known as Ghosts of the Titanic!

After dinner we went to the Dazzels lounge for the costume contest--won a lot of free stuff--key fob, beach bag, champagne, decks of cards, casino bucks, hats, and shirts.

The biggest costume party was last year on our biker rally cruise on FOS where there where over 500 dressed in costumes. The party was held by the pool. Doing this one again Oct.30th to Nov.6th. FOS again. Great time. I love Halloween cruises!!

We will be on a 45d cruise this Halloween on HAL - I've heard we may have decorations, but most (if not all) people won't dress up.

Hi Wayfairers we were on a caribbean cruise last year with halloween and they told us the same thing so i didn,t bring anything but nearly everybody was dressed up, that was on a RCCL cruise so don,t know if that will be different to a HAL one.

We were on a Mex Riviera cruise over Halloween several years ago. I was surprised how many people brought costumes. There were a lot of young adults, as it was a 7-day cruise. The Sapphire Princess' atrium was nicely decorated and there were decorations on all the bars. This year we'll be on the Ruby P TA over Halloween, which happens to be the first day of our six crossing the Atlantic. There will be a huge crowd of CCers onboard and we're having a private Halloween Party, costumes optional, but masks strongly encouraged. After all, we depart from Venice, known for its masks. :D

I think between all of us, we should research the best cruise for Halloween next year and book it. Then we could do a giant M&G. And have costume parties. I've been dying to go on a halloween cruise. It's my fav time of the year.
