Hi folks!

There is a brand new museum called MAR-RIO ART MUSEUM just opposite of the cruise terminal at Praça/Square Mauá, where people can visit the museu and also have a lunch or some beers/wine on the terrace. Here is the website http://www.museudeartedorio.org.br/en

Also, in 2016 a new museum (Museum of Tomorrow) will be open, once more, close to the port, a wonderful project of the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Here is the website http://museudoamanha.org.br/?lang=en

And last but not least, in that region is being constructed the Rio Aquarium. The reason of all these good news in the cruise terminal area is the complete modernization process in that area, ahead of 2016 Olympics here in Rio.

Thanks!

Jorge Andrade

The new art museum presents, according to the announced shows for the near term, a great chance for visitors from outside South America to familiarize themselves with some of the exciting art work to which the NYC-CA-EU-centric art world may sometimes pay less attention than the artists merit.

@softball- For one night (especially during weekend), check out some live samba and dancing in Lapa, perhaps at Carioca da Gema or Scenarium. (YouTube videos can show you what these clubs, and the area, are like.)
