I played several times on my last cruise. I won the bundle of cash once and a couple of casino chips. I would by in for $20.00 and my money always seemed to last longer then the slots and it was a lot more fun to me. Your most likely going to loose your money in the casino so why not have a little fun with it.

Yep...although a lady right behind us won $115,000 on a slot in the Atlantis casino. My mom was NOT pleased. "She's even STAYING here, she doesn't need the money! Why don't I ever win like that?"
"Uh, maybe because you only play penny slots, mom?"

Seems to me that many of the reported big wins HAVE been at the beginning of the cruise. I'll have to test this hypothesis m'self in 55 days.

For the same reason, state lotteries 'prime' their scratch-off games by distributing a higher percentage of winning cards when a game is new, to build a buzz about it...but the grand prize(s) aren't placed into the distribution stream until later, since once they're gone, it's a buzzkill.

My wife and daughter each won the $25 wad of singles on the Glory this past July. They felt the wad of bills was pretty well situated before they started feeding the machine.

My daughter won it for $2 out of pocket, and it cost my wife $20 out of pocket to win hers. (This does not include all the quarters they won and shoved back into the machine).

They also played other machines with no net winnings. Despite winning the $50, they were still out of pocket a total of $5 for the entire cruise. They feel good about it because they got a few hours of entertainment out of it.

Very detailed review of cruise: http://www.lavasurfer.com/info/carnival-glory.html

Do you get credit for playing the Quarter Pusher game? Casino credit like slots or the table games?

I was hoping that since it was located at the casino you could get gaming credit.

It saddens me to hear that the keyhole game is rigged and not just really hard. Last cruise I played it one time with my free coupon they give you to play one night and won $100! I was pretty excited. The top prize was $1,000 and my mom and sister tried for it. I decided not to be greedy and just the $100 & won. They were so mad!

I would notice her when I was going from one event to another having to walk through the casino to get from point A to point B. One of dinner companions did sit with her all day fetching her quarters so she wouldn't have to leave the machine. so I got to hear the final story at dinner.

Wow! I guess she was having a good time. Have to wonder about the "companion" though.

I love that machine- I am addicted even though I know I will never win. A few cruises ago I spent $40 in quarters to win a one dollar bill tied up like a bow :-)

I am guilty for playing on my last cruise in April on the ELation. I spent about 45.00 and won 2 quarter rolls, 1 dice keychain, 3 shirts, and 1 cap. It was a way to kill time and not loose all my money on slots!!

We love it too. It is a fun way to pass some time.
We limit ourselves to maybe $10.00 at a time each.
I'm happy when it just drops a few quarters allowing me to play some more.
Same with the slots. It's fun, as long as you don't get carried away.

There's usually a change machine nearby, too, but I've never cashed in a bill to specifically get quarters to play the machine. I do, however, feed it with a few quarters in if I have some on me.

I used to love hearing the sound of coins falling out of a slot machine, but since it's now "paper in paper out", about the only place you get to hear the sound is from these machines.
