I just remembered another one....a couple was in the whirlpool on deck 10 aft port side on Independence last month, and they were engaging in activities that should be reserved for a private setting!!!

Anyway security came and the woman started getting mouthy and aggressive with them.....sure enough, they grabbed her and escorted her away fully naked....luckily there were not a lot of children about on the ship(during school before Christmas) but it was right there out in the open.

It would kill the mood for me! Chlorine fumes make my eyes burn!

[emoji572]️ You know you're a cruise addict if:

You know what DOtD and OBC mean.

You enter your bedroom at night and look for the towel animal.

You are reading Cruise Critic, and your cruise isn't for months, or you don't even have one booked (yet!) [emoji572]️

My first job out of college was working with communicable diseases, So I know that germs die after being over 104 deegres for 10 minutes. So I never worry. I love hot tubs. I am so old I could not do those things in a HT anymore.

Unfortunately, cruise hot tubs are never as hot as 104. They are always lukewarm at best.

This happened on a beach not a cruise. I had been shopping in a sea shell shop before going to spend some time on the beach in San Diego. I had my little brown bag of great shells that I put in the top of my beach tote. I had a folding beach chair and put the same tote under my chair.

A seagull grabbed the brown bag of shells and flew off! I am sure he thought it might have a french fry or something yummy for his lunch. You should have seen me chasing him down the beach. Picture a middle aged tourist running after a seagull waving her arms and pointing at the thieving seagull. My new shells were falling out of the paper bag and I was dashing around trying to find my recently purchased shells. Curse that bird! My shells were kind of easy to spot as they had price tags still stuck to them.

I was still looking and gathering shells when a small boy found one of my shells. I didn't tell him it was mine but I could hear him ask his father if you find a shell on the beach do you have to pay for it?

Can you buy sea glass? Have fun and enjoy the sunshine.

While on the NCL Sun we booked cave tubing in Belize through a private company. The excursion was fantastic until we were leaving. This excursion was an almost all day adventure and located a couple hours from port. We all had an excellent adventure and our guide was fantastic until....

While we were pulling out of the parking lot in a old conversion van our guide accidentally clipped another unoccupied parked car in the parking lot. Though we all heard and felt the impact clearly he acted as if he didn't know it happened and continued to drive off even though we all were telling him he hit a car.

The road out from the parking area is narrow, very bumpy, through the jungle and barely wide enough for two cars. It also is several miles long before you reach the main road. As we are bumping our way down the road about a mile or so a very angry, short and stocky Mexican looking guy come chasing us down in the very car we hit. I thought to myself "Oh God, we're all gonna die!" He kept swerving around our vehicle and nearly ran us off the road. He was attempting to get around us and block our path and finally succeeded. Hear we are in a foreign country, not far from Guatemala, in the jungle being chased down by what appeared to be a crazy man. All I kept thinking to myself was if our guide stops now we are goners. Eventually he managed to get around us and block the road. All of us tourists are absolutely petrified at this point. Our tour guide got out of the vehicle and confronted him in the road. This man who just chased us down was irate and had a lot to say to our guide, all in a language I couldn't understand. As things were escalating one of our fellow tourists got off the van and approached them. He happen to be an off duty US Marine. He somehow managed to calmly diffuse the situation. We all headed back to the parking lot where I was relieved to still be alive, if not from my own imaginative horror of how all that could have gone bad then from the fact that I hadn't had a heart attack yet. While we are waiting on local police for what seemed like hours (we are hours from any town) I began to panic thinking we might miss the ship. We still had a two hour ride back and the clock was seriously ticking. When the police arrived we discovered our guide did not have a drivers license nor what ever license is required for private tours. Miraculously our guide managed to convince the police to allow him to take us back to the port. It was a very very close call. We made it back to the ship safe and sound, our tour was refunded and we all had a story to tell.

I found that particular tour right here on CC and it came highly recommended over and over again. While the bulk of the tour was excellent as reported by others we had to deal with this unfortunate situation. I am much more cautious about booking anything though local companies regardless of reviews. The May provide the most awesome experiences and be superior to what the ship offers BUT never forget you are in unfamiliar territory that may or may not be regulated or safe if something happens.

Read all 71 pages this week! This is the best forum!

In 2010 on the Inspiration, I was with some of my college friends on a girls trip. I was 18, they were in their early 20s. We had just gotten back to our room after formal night. We walk in, and there is somebody laying in one of our beds! They are facing the wall, under the covers and clearly in a deep sleep. All three of us run out of the room screaming and into the room next to us occupied by others in our group. We couldn't figure out who it could be! My thought was the room steward because he was the only person who would be accessing our room, and everyone in our group was standing right there! One of us gets up the courage to go tap the person to wake them up. They don't move...so a little shake, and it turns out it is just a bunch of pillows in the shape of a person, wearing my hoodie! We walk out of the room to find our room steward laughing hysterically. He was a wonderful steward and definitely got us good!

Not one of the craziest but funny story. Hubby and I were on the Celebrity Silhouette and booked a concierge guarantee. End up with 1002 which is the first cabin at the bow of the ship. It was a very long walk from the mid elevators. We were coming but late from the casino. There was a couple ahead of us in the hallway. Maybe we were 15 cabins behind them. The female lifted up her dress to straighten out her thong. Get the picture. I don't even think they ever knew that we were behind them. Well it seemed that the rest of the cruise we would see them around the same time. To my husbands disappointment it never happen again.:D

Another time when we started cruising I forgot to close the drapes in our OV cabin. We were in port and I decided to take an early shower. Well I walked out of the bathroom buck naked. At the same time the crew was washing the outside windows of our cabin. I am sure the crew has many crazy stories to tell!!!!!!

Pssssst....that's called a "bump". :-)

Naw, yours was a bump.. the other was a request to see more...

So on a recent cruise we saw the usual ways to "reserve" a chair around the pool (don't do the pool but love to see the antics), but this seemed a novel way.

We've seen the pic of the blow doll on a chair all tucked into a towel BUT this one was across 3 chairs upside down with the 4 corners of the towel tied to the chairs... someone went to a lot of work to save 3 chairs!

Hmmm, for three chairs I would have expected at least 2 blowup dolls in "interesting configurations" (a-hem!) with leathers and/or handcuffs. Now _That_ would be a way to reserve the chairs _and_ lend a note of gentility and artistry to the pool deck. After all, who would be willing to try to take it apart just to get the chairs???

One might as well get creative if one wants to sequester valuable commodities!;)

I'm sure that is the "norm" on some of the themed cruises... oh wait though it would not be blow up dolls!

I think maybe I saw the bear people on the Quantum's Inaugural. Or they have friends maybe?

We were eating lunch in the Windjammer because we had activities we wanted to participate in through the morning and early afternoon. It was pretty wide open and we were sitting at a long table facing the windows. A couple came up and asked could they sit at the seats across from us. Very polite and we invited them to make themselves comfortable.

The bears had their own chairs and table which they placed on the table. We had a lovely discussion about the day, the cruise, the food selections at the Windjammer, all while the woman calmly "fed" the bears between bites.

Eventually conversation turned to formal wear and we had a nice discussion of what we two ladies and the lady bear might wear for formal dinner in the Grand that night. Very gentile, lovely couple really, which made it overall a nice luncheon, but the bears did make us do a double take. We looked for them in The Grand, eager to see how the bears went over there, but didn't manage to glimpse them. :)

How exciting to meet the famous bear family. I think I would have lost it when they were discussing Momma Bear's formal options.

Who are they?

You should do a search to get the information first hand. :) I cannot do justice to the story.

There is a couple who treat their bears as if they were real children. They dress them, take them everywhere, and sometimes one will be missing - because they are being disciplined and forced to stay in their room.

Someone once said that they moved next door to the bear family. Same thing when they were invited to dinner. The "children" occupied their spots at the table, except for one, who had been naughty. LOL

While it is true that many people carry a lucky mascot with them on vacation to represent their beloved pets who have been left at home, this couple never lapse in their role as bear parents. How I would enjoy meeting them! LOL

Who are they?

We met them on the Love Boat Farewell cruise back in Oct-Nov 2002.

Each day all four of them (the couple and the two stuffed bears) had matching clothing, but a different set every day. They sat with them in the MDR and took them to the shows. The comedians had a field day pointing them out. :)

I'm coming out of lurk mode for this one.

We were on the Carnival Dream in Nov 2013. Our two daughters, then aged 13 and 15, were grumping about the fact that I would not allow them to wander down the cabin hallways by themselves-I would pick them up from the kids' clubs when they were done with them.

We're walking down the hallway and it's all blah blah blah mom you're way too overprotective, and a door opens to one of the cabins and a guy is standing there buck naked.

To.This.Day. the image of his sunburned pot belly and very sad looking pale junk is BURNED into my memory. I shoved the girls forward (they were walking in front of me and missed the junk show) and screeched "go go go!"

They turned around to see the guy leaning blearily out the door (not his junk, just his sunburned face) and were like what is your problem, Mom?!?

And I said "he's naked and probably drunk; keep going."

They stopped giving me crap about being overprotective for the rest of the cruise.

Mom for the win (at least that day).
