I always thought we would get to platinum, but now I don't think we will keep working on it. I really like Princess.

Me and my DH did a BVE on one of the princess ships in Frisco last year. We have sailed carnival 3 times. But we are looking forward to our trip to Hawaii in Oct on the Grand.

We did our first Princess this past summer (Alaska) and also found ourselves comparing to Carnival. I liked the choice of 4 restaurants each night on the Diamond Princess (same menu, different atmosphere). I liked the quality of the robes on Carnival more. Other than that, more similar than different.

We are just the opposite. We have been sailing Princess; the Diamond to Alaska, Sapphire to Mexico, and just sailed the Ruby in November to the Eastern Caribbean.
For Christmas we looked at trying something different and with New Orleans being within driving distance for us looked at both Carnival and Norwegian. We ended up on the Norwegian Star and had a great time; DW would probably disagree with me but I prefer Princess over Norwegian.
We have booked two Carnival cruises later this year, one on the Conquest to San Juan and one on the Elation for New Years. We'll see then how Carnival compares to Princess.

Just wish that Princess had more to offer in the Midwest
