Is the NCL address for Special Needs.
Basically, there are aprox. 24 staterooms with
handicapped facilities. Only 10 of the rooms
will accomodate 4 passengers. These are extra
large rooms with chair access to the bathroom,
and necesities are within reach of the chair.

At the time of reservation, be prepared to
speak to the NCL's Passenger Courtesy Department, where they will ask you to fax them
a letter from your doctor, stating the nature of
the disability, and the need for the handicapped room,& permission to board passenger and scooter.

Only collapsible, 3-wheel "AmigoType" wheel-
chairs powered by Gel Cell batteries, connected
to a 110 volt recharger will be allowed on ship.

Public Area thresh-holds are ramped, but usually
require a 2nd persons assistance.

The chair can not go on the tender. (Which is
a smaller vessel, used to move passengers between the ship and shore when the ship is at
anchor and not docked.

Hope this helps and Bon Voyage! Marie

Hi we were on the Dawn in August (2003) and in February (2004) My husband uses a Jazzy. A four wheel motorized wheelchair that neither folds or is collapsible. The cabins we were in were on decks 11 10 and 8. All three cabins are plenty big enough. The cabin on deck 11 (inside) could sleep 5. The cabin on deck 10 (inside) has a nice size pull out. The cabin on deck 8 (obstructed view) has a pull down for a third person. Keep this in mind there is one bathroom to be shared. This ship is very handicapped friendly/accessable. The handicapped inside cabin on deck 11(cabin #11609 or #11109) would be great for all of you.
