Grand Cayman local Bus

Now that we have returned from our cruise, I can say our experience using the local bus was good. It was east to walk from the ship the couple short blocks and catch their bus. They are minivans, really. They charge US$2.50 each way and will stop anywhere along their route for you ( just call out 'bus-stop').

But we took friends and I am not sure they loved it. You are sometimes packed in the bus and it stops frequently as locals often use it getting to and from work, the bus driver may be talking on one or two cell phones at a time while driving (really!) and it is not going first class. We also often wait for a while for the bus. Would have been only a bit more expensive for a taxi. We will continue to use local buses on all islands as we have for years.
