Voyager June 20th, 2010 Mediterranean. Port or Starboard Balcony Cabin?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We are booked in an E2 balcony stateroom on the port side of the Voyager of the Seas,June 20th, 2010 Mediterranean. Which would give the best views of the port cities while docked? Port or Starboard? I know that the ship can port on either side. Does anyone have experience with this itinerary?

Thank You for you input!

We are taking that exact same cruise itinerary in September 2009, I choose the right hand side of the ship (E2 balcony 7318) if you are standing facing the front of the ship. So, since I really don't know, is that the port side or the starboard side??

All references are made as if you are facing the front (bow) of the ship with the back (stern or aft) behind you. In this case your left is the 'port' side and your right is the 'starboard' side. The ships lights at night have a red light on the port side and green on the starboard side. Now there are 2 easy ways to remember all this.

1. All the short words are on the same side LEFT, PORT, RED, so all the long words are ths other side.

2 A handy mnemonic is 'There is some RED PORT wine LEFT in the bottle'

We are on the same itinerary, same ship and same cabin on 27 September. Small world:)

I'm not sure it matters because you never can be sure where the ship will dock. Their can be numerous finger berths at one pier.

I asked a few different people the same question. Two of them are travel agents and the other was a RCCL rep. One of the Travel Agents stated she was on the same cruise. They all said the left side facing which I believe is "port".

We are on the June 21st, 2009 sailing.
