anyone stayed at the best western marina at port everglades? any info or tips on good restaraunts near by

This is not a hotel I recommend. If your reservation is cancellable, you might want to consider Priceline or Hotwire, as you can almost always get a much nicer hotel for the same price or often less. This property has a history of significant problems for guests. Many have acceptable stays, but it has earned a place on my list of hotels not to recommend.

But, if your reservation isn't cancellable, let's make the best of it . There are a number of terrific restaurants accessible either through the water taxi or across the bridge on 17th. Actually, there's a really nice grill-style restaurant across the street at the Hyatt, or go across the bridge on 17th. There you can find a Hops (family dining), Bravo (Italian), Carlos & Pepes (my favorite Mexican), Bimini Boatyard, wonderful sushi and others. One (maybe two) stops up on the water taxi is 15th Street Fisheries for seafood, or you can go to the Las Olas/Riverfront area on the water taxi for a number of other restaurant options.

You're in a terrific area, to be sure.
