Tendinitis experience?

Don't think I will get anything on disability board but thought maybe the fitness crowd - have tendinitis in my ankle. My doctor said I should feel must better in two weeks (RICE). But, I am reading more like 2 months on MD websites. TA cruise and London in 3 weeks. Anybody have experience with recovery time? It was an overuse case.
