Anyone do the Barbie Package yet?
Is it out? Is it worth it? Were your children under or overwhelmed? Any input would be great!! Thanks so much in advance,

To each their own, but I can not imagine it is worth the money. It does not start until January 2013, going fleetwide in March, 2013.
"The premium experience includes a Barbie-themed stateroom with a Barbie, blanket and pillowcase, tote bag, toothbrush and toiletries bag; an invitation-only Tiaras and Teacups party; a mermaid dance class where children learn the moves from the movie Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2; a fashion designer workshop where kids can create their own Barbie fashions; and a fashion show where they will walk the "pink carpet." The cost is $349.
But kids of parents who don't want to pay for the premium experience won't be left out. There are complimentary Barbie-themed activities available through the cruise line's kids' club. The experience offers Barbie movie night, Barbie story time and plus Barbie movies on their stateroom televisions."

We will be doing it in Feb. And yes it will be worth it if you have a child that LOVES everything Barbie. Just like doing stuff w/ Shrek or on Disney with Mickey and gang. Kids love that and still feel the magic of make believe. It will be for a special birthday not just a because kind of gift. But I am kind of concerned about how over the top the cabin might become.

Thanks for the ABC link. I had seen this on Royal's website but not the cost.
We have 4 adult children, their spouses and 9 grandchildren going on a family cruise in March of 2014. This has already been brought up!
Happy Cruising!

My daughter isn't that into Barbie for it to be worth it...
Now if they could offer something along the Spongebob line, both my son and daughter could be happy, and not feel that I was playing favorites.

I know everyone has their favorites but I loath Spongebob. I did do NCL for Dora for a little one but I wanted to hid everything spongebob would appear. I hope I can keep the kids happy with all the Royal characters and the Disney ones. Now Barbie is in the mix so I can stay pretty happy not having to see SB for a long while. (If your kids really do like him, check out some of the CC NCL links for info).

I just talked to a rep last night about it when I booked my cruise. The price she gave me was $198 or so, but she didn't mention the room being decorated. She only mentioned the tea party, the fashion show, and the complimentary activities.

I loved Barbie...did collector activities until 38 or so..I like the 198 price better than 365..that is too much....very good way to build some memories for girls that aged group...so glad they are keeping her alive, the fantasies and playing with friends and clothes and having home made clothes by mother and knitted by grandmother and for sale each year at the Church Christmas Bazar..everywhere Barbie goes with you growing up..Mom said she never felt bad spending money on the stuff for we were occupied for hours taking Barbie on adventures and dreaming up our live..maybe we dress better for casual elegant or formal and know the difference..LOL..Ken does too....we were lucky..but we were still within reason,,,no Austin Healy or plane for us..LOL..oh boy...it was fun, for years and years and a fun little collection a girl can have when older, especially with E-bay...please inform us of the good times, Sarah
