Just off the Ecstasy 3/25/13 5 night to Freeport, Nassau, HMC! Great Cruise!!

Finally home after 12 hours from getting off the Ecstasy this morning at 7:45am. We had a great time! We are a family of four (hubby and wife in our early 40s and kids are 8 and 12). I chose this itinerary in particular because of Half Moon Cay and the flights we could get during spring break week. We stayed on the empress deck in an oceanview room w/ two uppers. It was fine for our needs as we aren't in the room much anyway.

I was worried that we would feel like Ecstasy was too small since we sailed the Dream last year and honestly, we didn't notice a difference. The kids had a great time playing mini-golf, ping pong, waterslides, arcade and having endless pizza and ice cream.

I wanted to report back that we had a great cruise, great service, great weather, and we were sad to leave today.

If anyone has any specific questions, let me know. I saved the Funtimes.

Do you happen to have the kids funtimes as well? We are going on the same cruise in June, my daughter is 10 and loves the camp.

How was HMC? We are really looking forward to that!

Thanks for posting!

My son is 11 and this will be his first cruise. We are leaving in 2 weeks. I'm afraid that there won't be enough kids for him. Do you think this will be the case? Is the kids club fun, your children had fun in them? Thanks for any info you can provide!!

Happy Easter!

I did not save the kids club funtimes. Sorry.

HMC was may favorite - beautiful beach. Lazy beach day. Lunch was hamburgers, hot dogs, chips/salsa, salads, and dessert.

Your son will have fun. There is plenty for kids to do! I did not hear the words, "I am bored" last week from my kids. Although there probably won't be as many kids in two weeks as there was last week due to Easter break, I am sure there will still be plenty of kids on board. Have fun!

I forgot to mention that we enjoyed all our meals. Never had a bad meal. We ate in the MDR on 4 of the 5 nights. Had breakfast in the MDR one day (wish we would have done that more). The lido breakfast is good but I was sick of it by the last day :) For lunches, we had the pizza, deli sandwiches, grill items (burgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders, chips and yummy salsa).

Also, we purchased FTTF. I am not so sure I would do it again. We got onboard pretty early by 11:30 and debarked the ship early at 7:45. However, I was not sure how to take advantage of any of the other supposed benefits (getting in the cabin early, priority dining reservations, and priority tendering at HMC). They turned me away 3 times when I tried to get to our cabin early. I asked about the priority dining at guest services and they told me I had to request it on the first day of the cruise. I was confused! Oh well, live and learn with that one.

The shows we saw we enjoyed. The Brits (musical with British band music), Hasbro game show (saw both shows), male vs. female show (funny!), family comedy show. We also enjoyed Chuck who played acoustically in the atrium bar a lot of nights. We also saw the Ecstasy band playing near the Casino one night.

If you want a lounge chair on the sea day(s), get up early! That is pretty common with all ships though.

I will post if I think of more!

I'm glad to hear your positive review! We are sailing the Ecstasy in June with the same ports, and our kids are close in age to yours (10 and 7 at the time we cruise). We are super excited and to hear how much fun the kids had makes me even more excited!

I'm also wondering if you did any excursions in Nassau or Freeport? We are finalizing our plans and would love to hear your experience in those ports.:)

I'm traveling this same itinerary June 22nd with my folks and my children, son age 14 and daughter age 10. I'm so excited to see your kids loved it, did they spend time in camp carnival? How dressed up did your son get for dinner in the mdr? I'm hoping mine can get away with bermuda shorts and a collared tshirt. Other than the dress up night, where he won't get a choice! Can't wait to see your pics, will you be posting the funtimes also?

In Freeport, we took a taxi to Port Lucaya marketplace and shopped a little. Then went to the beach there. It was nice. In Nassau, the morning was cold and windy, so we opted for shopping in the morning. We went back to the ship about 11:30 and got our lounge chairs and had lunch and then it turned hot and sunny. Wish we had booked an excursion for that day but it started out like the day was not going to be nice. We still had a nice relaxing day on the ship.

I've sailed "Ecstasy" twice in the last three months, and had a GREAT time aboard each time. Fantastic ship, outstanding crew and service, excellent entertainment and very, very good food. You won't go wrong on "Ecstasy"!
