Veendam Sailaway May 6, 2012 - NY to Bermuda

Didn't see a sailaway thread....so many cruisecritic chums sailing today...

Copied this info from Monina01 on Innlady1's (Sheila) "Live From the Veendam"...

I did two test sailaway's and figured out the best way to view the NY sailaway is as follows:

First keep an eye on this webcam. Note: not a streaming webcam so you need to refresh it every 20 seconds or so:

At the same time, watch the Intrepid webcam. This cam has two screens, the below screen in the streaming one and you see either part of the ship go by, or the wake of it. In the top screen the view alternates and you can see the ships as they back up. Right now as I am typing this I have a good view of Veendam

Now, as soon as the first and second webcams don't show anything anymore, you can close those windows.

After about 10-15 minutes, She should become visible in the distance in Lou and Daves webcam, if they zoom in on the place where she is to appear from. That's what happened last time:

After 15-20 minutes she should become visible in the Liberty cam, coming in from the top lefthand corner and moving towards the right of your screen. Make sure you click on Live streaming from the torch, to get the streaming cam!

Last week you could see the ship's simoultaneously in the Liberty and L&D webcam's.

She moves out of view from the liberty cam fairly fast, and then just watch L&D's webcam as they follow her until under the bridge.

Make sure to refresh the streaming cams ever so often.

Summit is currently leaving. It was on the earlier schedule for 5PM, and I was assuming it would be out past the Verrizano before the Veendam got that far down but now it will clearly be out of the way before Veendam leaves. I just rechecked the port schedule and it says Carnival Miracle at 4 so sailaway action should now be starting. I couldn't find a time for the NCL ship. Hopefully, there won't be too much competition for the camera's attention as the Veendam leaves.

Just checked wired New York and NCL is on it's way.
