One-day cruise from Port Canaveral

Greetings all. I'm treating myself to a couple of days in Cocoa Beach at the end of February and am looking for a one-day cruise out of Port Canaveral (not an overnight, just a board-in-the-morning-disembark-after-dark thing). I'm not a gambler and I'm not one to drink my liver into a quivering mass, I just want a day onboard ship to see the Space Coast from the water.

Haven't been able to find a thing. Has anyone done such an excursion? Or does it even exist?

Sounds like you may be remembering the Sea Escape - cruise to no where - that ran in the 80's. I believe that company left Canav and all that runs out of Canaveral on a 'day trip' are the casino boats..... Sea Escape web site says there is a Port Everglades operation....

Drummerboy, there is no such day cruise out of Port Canaveral. However, do consider the Sterling casino ship which is actually a large ship. While it does have deck after deck of casino activities, there is a lounge with live music, gift shop, free buffet and plenty of top deck sitting room that you can relax for a half-day (about 11am to 5pm) in a semi-cruise environment....and IT'S FREE! Check out: http://www.sterlingcasinolines.com The competing SunCruz casino boat is much, much smaller.

If you want more of a cruise experience, you'd need to drive down to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. There Seaescape offers a day cruise to nowhere and Discovery offers a roundtrip 1-day cruise to Freeport, Bahamas. See: http://www.seaescape.com and http://www.discoverycruiseline.com My Cruise Critic review of the latter written last summer is located at: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=353700
