7-2 Port time. Klein Bonaire transportation?

Woodwind is already booked for Feb 20, 2015! So I need to come up with Plan B. Would love to take the water taxi to Klein Bonaire and snorkel on our own but the first ferry run is at 10 am. Is there any other way to get there? Are their private boats that can bring you?

We may have book with Compass or snorkeling with Renee. But we would really rather be on our own at Klein Bonaire!

Thanks for your advice,

Lauri

The local ferry, Good Return, adjusts their schedule to fit the cruise ships. We went with them 2 times this past winter. Cost was $20. The owner brings you to the island to deposit your towels and things and then you get back on the boat and he will bring you back to a spot where you leave the boat and drift snorkel back to where your things are. Sounds odd and i was a little nervous but it was perfect. He knows when the cruise ship leaves and will return for you in enough time for you to get back. Have a great time. The snorkeling was awesome.

We just returned from a 10 day cruise on HAL that included a stop in Bonaire. Excursions to Klein Bonaire via water taxi are available from the ship and can be arranged independently. The water and snorkeling on KB is great, BUT keep in mind that if an emergency occurs while on the island communications can be very difficult. we witnessed a snorkeling incident where a rapid emergency response would have made the difference between life and death. People on shore were waving their arms frantically as our charter catamaran sailed by. Our boat stopped, circled back, and made a valiant effort to help using onboard health equipment. Our boat also radioed to the bay police who responded quickly, but not in time to save the life of the woman who had been in distress. Lesson learned: It is essential to have some way of contacting authorities quickly in case of emergency.
