Silhouette missing cruise on Dec 16 solved Coachella cruise

We had a thread awhile back about trying to find out who is chartering Silhouette on Dec. 16 of this year. Heres the answer in press release from Celebrity. Not a charter. Its a Coachella cruise

You beat me to it, I was listening to NPR on the way home from work just now, & they announced it... according to them, there will be two of these cruises in Dec. The Cochella festival is a pretty big deal here S. CA

I am having one of those "I am SO over 50 and am such a fuddyduddy" moment. I took a look at the link provided by dkretired, and have to admit that I don't recognize any of them. But as a shareholder I think this is an excellent idea.

I am now officially OLD. Never heard of any of those groups. Now, if you say MegaDeath, Supertramp, and Poison, then you'd have something.

I'm young-ish. I've been to Coachella. I know a fair portion of the bands playing.

I am so glad I am scheduled on the cruise BEFORE this one. I do not see how the ship is not going to get totally trashed. Yikes! :eek::eek::eek:

I was thinking the exact same thing. Although Celebrity will probably have record alcohol sales!

I don't know. More of a drug culture....plus, there will be a TON of liquor smuggled on. Only time will tell.

Way to trash a beautiful ship.

Gosh, I hope she doesn't get trashed, we are sailing her on January 6th. Are these people really that bad???

Too funny....hard to decide which would be worse - this or the American Girl cruise!! :o

We are also considering this cruise too. Doing my homework now.

My husband and I were just talking about the ship getting "trashed" but after he started reading about people complaining about the cost of the cruise/concert on the Coachella website, I think this may cater to a different caliber of Coachella fan. While I love a good music festival I prefer to do it more first class and not get involved in the whole camping/trashing/getting dirty thing, we get a hotel, etc.. I'm just out for good music and we have the money to go to a festival and do it right.

And the next cruise is the CHRISTMAS cruise I'm taking the entire family on? Looks like we may give the crew a little extra time before we rush to board!

A three nighter to the Bahamas and a four nighter to Jamaica with prices from $500 pp with four sharing a room. Celebrity are obviously desperate to fill their ships. I will be getting off Silhouette on the 16th December and wishing the crew the best of luck!

My daughter would have been doing the same thing...
