Car Rentals

Recommended Posts

We are on the Grand Princess 10/22/17 California Coastal with stops in Santa Barbara, Long Beach and San Diego. We just love scenic drives so would like to rent cars at these locations. Do any rental car companies pick you up at any of these ports? Also, any suggestions for the scenic drives?

Santa Barbara would be quite nice and easy to do a round trip scenic route without repeating yourself. I would head out over highway 154 past lake cachuma into the Santa Ynez valley. Once there you could do some wine tasting if so inclined and/or visit the town of Solvang, a local Danish village. A little touristy but fun. Then you would come back to SB via Buelton (think Sideways) and via Rte101 along the coast back. If you still had some time you could stop at either the mission or the courthouse in downtown.

Urban LA is not known for its scenic drives, except for maybe Mulholland drive. In San Diego I would steer you to Balboa park an urban oases with many varied attractions.
