Weather in New Zealand

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have booked a cruise to New Zealand in November. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the weather is usually like that time of year. Our cruise is predominately the South Island.

Definitely cool. Dress in layers.:) On one cruise several years ago at the end of November it actually snowed on the deck of the ship when they went into Milford Sound, although I believe this would be the exception rather than the norm. :)

I sailed mid November a few years ago and had the most amazing sunny days for the majority of the cruise. My girlfriend cruised in January and had gale force conditions, so you never can tell, you are just in the hands of the weather gods, whenever you cruise...

The weather in NZ is always the same, completely unpredictable.
