Default Fred Olsen first timer

Hi All
We are booked on the Braemar cruise on 24/2/13 as our first time on Fred Olsen although we have done 11 cruises with other companies.
We received our documents this weekend and noticed that when we checked our flights dont work out. Taking the flight details on the documents and feeding them into Easy Jets website the outward flight doesnt match the flight numbers and the return flights Easy Jet dont fly from Tenerife on that day.
My questions are (a) when do we know the correct flight details (b) will the baggage allowance stay at 25kg (c) when do we find out about the fancy dress requirements and is it compulsory as this obviously affects our luggage weight.
Many Thanks

Hello Clive and Anne we are going on this cruise too I think I saw you on roll call , the docs that I have say the flight is TBA I booked over the phone and they told me that the flight from Manchester would be JET 2 , it does not mention any airplane company on the docs it's still about 6months away so nothing is prob finalised yet I will let you know on this website when I get my times and we can see if they match up .

Hi Joe
We are both on the roll call for the cruise.
My docs say we fly from Manchester on LS2131 which is an Easyjet reference and fly back on LS2132. Each with a 25 kg baggage allowance but without any times.
When I put this info in as a dummy booking it comes out that the only Easyjet flight from Manchester that day the flight number comes out as LS1921. The return on Thursday 7th May it says that Easyjet have no flights from Tenerife to Manchester that day.
I am just interested as to how early we will get to the ship and what the baggage allowance will be.
Your right that there is plenty of time to sort things out, but us oldies get impatient LOL

Hi by fancy dress I presume you mean Theme Nights.
I recall you can check on the FO site which Theme Nights are on your cruise. It takes a bit of fiddling tho.
No it is not compulsory, although we have always joined in.
FO give you items to join in, neckties, Hawaiian garlands, union jacks etc.....
They have added Theme Nights recently, they now include a Rock and Roll night, which we liked.
Have a good cruise....

Hi Joe
You are absolutly right, LS is Jet2 and EZY is Easyjet dont know what I was thinking about (probably all inclusive).
I have done a check for 24th Feb and 7th March and Jet2 dont fly Sunday or Thursday from Manchester to Tenerife only Tuesday, Friday and Saturday in Feb and March. I suppose we will find out eventually, just hope the baggage limit stays at 25 Kg.
Glad to hear FO gives us stuff for the Theme Nights. Thanks to 1160451 for the info.
Clive

I'm sure you will love your cruise on the Braemar. It is my favourite ship, but don't tell them on the Thomson boards We have been on her twice and going again in 2014

Red, White and Blue nights are easy. I just wore white trousers, red top and a blue scarf. They actually sell red, white and blue clothes in the shop on board the ship. I bought my white trousers there. We also had a country and western night, we wore jeans and checked shirt - be careful taking toys guns in your luggage 1160451 is right they do give out flags etc.

Hi Linda
Your secrets safe with me. I look in on Thomson every so often but contribute rarely in case I get my head bitten off. We love Thomson but because ,in my opinion, our last experience in June wasnt quite as good as in previous years the Thomson Mafia get you. I am convinced that some of those who "have a go" at anyone making the slightest criticism are Thomson PR staff.
Looking forward to going on FO for the first time as we enjoy the smaller ships to the bigger ships.
Thanks for the info on Theme nights.
Clive

Hello Clive I have been looking at other threads on this forum namely someone asking about the all inclusive I informed them that if they press the ai link on the cruise info page you then get a term and conditions link which when you press gives you the term and conditions, I booked several weeks ago and looked at these before booking , I have just looked at them again and low and behold its changed , the one before said things like selected bottles of beer, selected spirits but at least one of each kind , bottled water, ect ie it was more detailed now it's quite general and could mean anything , I will have to wait and see when we have the cruise what we will actually get , but I don't like when t and c s. are changed I should have printed them off, they might not be changed and the wording might be simplified , I won't let it spoil my cruise but I won't be happy if the ai is really restrictive .

Hi Joe
I agree with you that changing T&C's is a bit naughty.
Hopefully Fred Olsen will read this and give us some clarification, I notice they do answer on the Fred Olsen thread so maybe they come on here.
If I have to wait until we get aboard it may well drive me to drink.
I have checked both the stuff FO sent thru cruisedeals ,my TA and The Fred Olsen Brochure but in a quick look I cannot find any reference to ot, apart that is that we have it
We now know that a couple of friends we met on a cruise have now booked this one so there will now be 4 of us.
Best Wishes
Clive

As requested in response to your recent post I can answer the following aspects from the posts on this forum:
1. Flights should be confirmed in October
2. Baggage allowance is 25kg in the hold and hand luggage 7kg
3. Formal and theme night information is usually released 5 weeks before departure. Looking at a similar cruise they have the following theme nights: Tropical, International and Nautical along with 3 formal nights.
4. Term and conditions for our fly cruise programmes can be found at http://www.fredolsencruises.com/Abou...usive-T-and-Cs
I think they are the ones you are referring too.
I do hope this helps but please note the above is subject to change.
However if you do have any further questions please contact us at internet@fredolsen.co.uk

Regards
FOCL

Thank you FOCL for your reply.
Could you clarify that the terms and conditions that applied at the time of booking will be adhered to please.
Otherwise what would there be to stop the cruiseline, for instance, saying that all inclusive is now only water or the luggage allowance is 15kg in the hold and 5 hand luggage.
I am sure you wouldnt dare go that far but isnt the contract I have with FOCL governed by the T &C's at the time the contract was made ie when the booking is made.
Many Thanks
Clive

The Terms and Conditions that where valid at the time of booking will be valid at time of sailing. However other information such as flights, theme night information is subject to change. If you have any further queries please contact us directly on the following email address internet@fredolsen.co.uk and we will be able to answer your query promptly.

CLIVE
Stop being paranoid and trust uncle Fred to deliver the goods.
Next week i sail on the 4 week Balmoral cruise to CANADA, which will give
me a full house of all the ships of FO. Up to yet all pre and post cruise
arrangements have been first class.
I did a Caribbean fly cruise on the Braemar, the atmosphere in the
Coral lounge in the evening was fantastic.
Just relax and look forward to to your cruis on the Braemar.
Have a great holiday!
