MSC gets an A++ for openness

Just returned from MSC Divina where we took an unexpected extension to Cozumel in order to avoid Irma and wait until Port of Miami was open again. During the entire time Captain Mazza and the Cruise Director were at pains to let passengers know what was happening and what to expect. Mazza met with passengers daily at 5:00 in the Theater in order to bring the latest info and to try and answer their questions. During the time of the cruise extension no changes were made, either in entertainment, quality of food or attitude of staff. We couldn't have asked for better treatment and this professional performance by MSC has made me a convert!

Thank you for sharing. All these posts about how MSC handled Irma are encouraging. My experience with MSC lead me to expect lots of miscommunication and disorganization- glad to read that wasn't the case, especially as MSC is tossing their hat into the world cruise game. :-D

After 20 NCL cruises we were on MSC DIVINA thru Irma - our first MSC thanks to URCOMPED. We enjoyed, but had multiple bad experiences with customer service onboard. We are used to NCL, where all your perks are waiting and available day one, was difficult to obtain them with MSC. The Captain did a wonderful job keeping us safe and informed thru the hurricane. Food mostly great, very few misses, shows wonderful but extremely repetitive. Dancing, singing, twirling and acrobatics almost every night, just with different music . Beautiful ship with a friendly casino. Lots of spots for music onboard, but except for disco everything ended by midnight.

Safe sailing

Captain Mazza is fantastic.Last May on Divina we had a very bad storm come out of nowhere shortly after pulling out of Cozumel. He was on it in seconds clearing the outside decks and giving constant instructions and updates over the ships pa system .Also he is a very personable gentleman .

He is that, indeed! In fact, I grabbed him (without realizing he was the Captain) to ask him a question about the wi-fi connection for my wife's cell phone - he very gamely tried to fix it but explained that he's more a 'pencil and paper type' and called for one of his IT guys who promptly appeared and fixed it. A very down to earth commanding officer.
