There is only a Segway tour...not too great honestly. To get around in Cozumel, best is on foot in downton or rent a car...please no scooters..there are too many accidents with them of the tourists..if downtown...go on foot, to explore the island rent a jeep. Segway is not suitable for getting around. Good luck!

Appreciate the advice - thanks!

Was there the week of 1/5/2009.

The Segway tour was essentially a 30 minute means of transport to the snorkel/beach area. Orientation/instruction session, then the trip out, part of which was on a 2 lane street. The jeep behind the single-file line of Segway's would honk to signal a vehicle passing. Felt really safe.

They didn't allow side-by-side riding, leaving the group, passing, zig-zagging, or extreme speed variations. For someone who was a first time Segway rider, this ended up being ... awesome!

But if you were hoping that the Segways would be used as a multi-stop tour of the island, you'll be disappointed. Or as a replacement for a day's scooter rental, disappointed.

Good way to try out a Segway, though. Not sure about cost-effective.
