No you are not wrong at all. I sit and listen someone else does the booging now had this been 50 years ago. Even 30 years ago I would have been there.

Oh no! We have had F729 and it was ok and we have booked the same again for May. We did get some dull sounds from the bass but nothing that caused us a problem at all. Hope the bar bill isn't too bad !

We have just returned from a 2 night trip to Bruges on Brittania. we wanted to try out one of the aft suites with the wraparound balcony. The cabin (G733) was lovely BUT the vibrations from the engines were horrendous and we had a lot of soot on the balcony on both mornings. My relatives had the cabin next door which was G731. We knew this cabin was above the Live Lounge but we did not realise how loud this actually was.

The loud thumping went on till 5am so they were shattered the next morning. We cut short our day in Bruges as they wanted to have a cat nap before the formal night. They just nodded off when the music started again.Seems it was rehearsal time! The noise level was unacceptable and after a couple of hours complaining they were moved to a midship cabin so they could at least get some sleep that night.

We are in talks with P&O but I would like to hear from anyone else who has had this cabin.
You can email me at [email protected].
In the meantime please don't book this cabin.

Hi.
We had cabin F724 last year for a fjiords cruise. Did not have any noise problems. One advantage is that you are very near to the rear lifts. I am sure you have heard about the central lifts but you will have no problem at all with the aft lifts.

Many thanks for posting this. I was very concerned reading the previous post as we are going to be just one level up from G deck in F730 (aft corner wrap suite). I see that F724 is right next to our suite and, in particular, our bedroom, so your post is reassuring as I have been very concerned about potential noise disturbance from the Live Lounge. Out of interest, did you experience the vibration problems that the previous poster also reported?

One other specific question, if you don't mind. I'm also concerned about smelling cigarette smoke on our balcony from the smoking area, which is outside the Live Lounge on the Port side and underneath these cabins. Did you have any issues with that, or noise from smokers in that area late at night? Thanks in anticipation.

Hello Cool Cruiser.

You will not have any problems with smokers. We sat on our balcony quite a lot and never smelt any smoke.
With regards to vibration we did not feel anything. In fact we liked that cabin so much we have rebooked it for next year! Just go and enjoy yourselves.

Many thanks. Much appreciated! There's so much conflicting info on this site about the aft cabins on Britannia it's difficult to know what to believe. I haven't had any feedback on our specific cabin and you are the first to provide feedback on the cabin immediately adjacent to us, so I will take your feedback to be the most relevant! Thanks again.

Thanks! My wife keeps telling me the same thing. This cruise is costing me over £11k for the Suite and adjacent balcony cabin for our daughters, hence my paranoia. Anyway, with the £100 OBC I have received for the recent charging error, we are now up to £1,110 OBC, so if we do experience any of the problems I am concerned about then I shall just have to drown my sorrows.

Hi Selbourne, have a great trip and don't forget that people party long and hard on two night cruises, which may account for the differing feedback. My friends had the G deck suite, loved it and said they had no noise. I have E deck aft-wrap booked in October.

I do think that if you go looking for any issues you will find some. Aft cabins will get a judder and more noise when docking than other cabins due to the position of the engines. There will be some soot some days and you may just hear the odd beat from the disco.

BUT - you will have views that stay in your mind for ever, amazing sunsets, it will be mega quiet at the back and very close to the lifts. The suites we have seen look amazing from above and we were envious!

We have never yet had a cabin that was perfect, but we have loved every cruise.

Please try not to worry too much - just go expecting it not to be perfect and you will have a great time. Anyway, the worst you can do is to drink that OBC ;-)

I really look forward to your review when you get back - am so sure you will love it.
