Lobster is only served in the MDR on the first formal night. You don't need to get "black tie formal", just dress nice.

Nope. The room service menu is pretty much sandwiches and a few other things.

Please do not be intimidated by formal night. Based on the 9/23 sailing, I can assure you that if you wear the exact same thing that you'd wear any other night to the MDR you will not be out of place.

When do you cruise?? We are going on Victory again this December 16. We have done the southern Caribbean 3 other times and because of luggage restrictions.. usually out of San Juan is a little more laid back and casual. Like the above poster said ... don't be intimidated from the "cruise Elegant" nights. Even nicer pants and a decent polo or button shirt would not be out of place. Enjoy the experience.

We take our first cruise November 11 out of Puerto Rico

I guess we will plan on going then. I had no idea I thought you had to have suit and tie for men. For ladies heels and formal dress

Dirkgun sounds like you have taken this cruise alot and must love it

Off the subject

Best port of call for beach day?
Best port of call for shopping?
poorest port of call? Thinking of bringing some toys for kids to hand out

thanks to all of you I had never planned to attend formal nights and you have put my mind to ease.

Looks like hubby gets Lobster after all

Thanks for asking for we were wondering about that as well and didn't want to pack "formal wear" just for the lobster. Coming from Maine love my lobster whenever I can get it.

We'll see you in the MDR on the Tuesday night then dressed smartly.
