Veendam MDR questions

We will be boarding in a few days and I have two questions regarding the MDR that I haven't been able to find the answers for and am hoping that some recent Veendam cruisers might be able to provide the info.

1. Which level in the MDR is open for lunch on embarkation?

2. Which level in the MDR is for AWD?

Thanks!

2. Which level in the MDR is for AWD?

Both levels are "AWD".

The upper level is fixed seating, while the lower level is open.

Sometimes there's a free table in fixed seating because those passengers are at "AWD" elsewhere. Open seating passengers are placed there for that evening.

Breakfast and lunch were served on the upper level of the dining room last week on the Veendam, including the lunch on embarkation day. On some of the port days, the dining room was not open for lunch. On the one sea day, the dining room was open only for Mariners.

Thanks everyone for the information.

It's been a few yrs since we have sailed on HAL so we are really looking forward to this cruise.

Thanks for the heads up about needing to be Mariners in order to eat in the MDR for lunch when we board. We are 2 star so I hope that will be ok.
