Has anyone checked out Booze Traveler on the Travel Channel?

If you've tried any homemade liquors on any of the Caribbean islands, please share some info that might be able to direct me to where & what (even if it is a little crazy). I'd love to be able to experience some of these exotic samplings.

I tried some hootch on the beach in Samana DR. Lol was crazy strong was in a bottle w herbs/sticks and was red. I have no clue what it was but I was offered and I drank ;)

Yes, this is Mamajuana. It's all over the DR. You can find it EVERYWHERE. It's like the national drink. It's a combination of Honey, Red Wine, Rum and the sticks/leaves/herbs. Supposed to be an aphrodesiac, but it just mostly makes you drunk. It is tasty however!!

Love Booze Traveler and wished there was a company that did trips like this! I would book for sure! Love the little towns and unknown secret beverages that people drink. It's a great show!
