It's also a total waste of time unless you enjoy the bad acting at Renaissance Festivals.

She's not a doughnut - it's DUCKING!!!

It is currently taking place Mon to Thurs and Sat at noon at the Ducking Stool just by the bridge from King's Square to Ordnance Island - right in the middle of St George's - you can't miss it.

It may be a bit amateur (and the participants are all amateurs, they take time off their day jobs to do it) but we're a small island, that's part of our charm, isn't it?

I asked the St George's Town Crier and he assures me that he will be ducking the nagging wench on Cup Match Thursday (as we call it) at noon.

Thank you for the quick response. Last question, do you know if the majority of shops will be open or closed in Hamilton and St. Georges ?

Closed, I expect. Cup Match is the biggest holiday of the year here, the shops at Dockyard will open for the ships but everywhere else will be closed.
