Check Cashing - Island Princess, Hawaii Cruise

We just returned from the Hawaii cruise and were a little upset with Princess about cashing a check. Three months prior to departure we called to see if they would cash a personal check on board and the answer was yes. Three days before departure we again called to ask and again the answer was yes. We were running short on cash and thought we might want to do some shopping in Ensenada so went to desk to cash a check and they refused. Said they'd received an e-mail from the head office saying no personal checks were to be cashed. Turns out we bought little in Ensenada but sure weren't impressed with the communication on Princess.

Strange, maybe they have changed the rules again. My understanding has always been that they would cash 1 (one) personal check for a couple of hundred on every cruise?????????????????????????? Never tried it but always took one blank one along just in case we needed it.
