Sea Cow Snorkeling Review

We booked our excursion through Princess. It did sell out before the cruise, so book early. The staff of the Sea Cow were very friendly & helpful throughout the trip. They gave very in-depth instructions on safety & equipment. If you are a newbie to snorkeling, this would be a good excursion for you. We snorkeled at 2 different spots on Klein Bonaire. The trip to Klein Bonaire was probably only 10-15 minutes. We snorkeled for about 45 minutes at each spot, and it was only a 5 minute boat ride from the 1st to the 2nd spot. We were provided with water or juice between stops, and then rum punch, water or juice afterwards (maybe there were soft drinks too?). There are no bathrooms on the Sea Cow, and since Klein Bonaire is uninhabited, there are no bathroom facilities there either. The water there is crystal clear! There is not a lot of colorful coral, but the variety of fish was amazing. The water is very shallow near the shore, but then drops off to 90 feet. The staff would escort you along the shoreline & point out different species of fish. They did have a photographer taking photos that you could buy on a flash drive and you were able to preview the photos on an iPad before purchasing them. I had my own cheap underwater camera, but since it was a little cloudy out, they do not do it justice.

After the excursion we took the short walk to "town." They had a market area with locals selling their goods, a small brewery, an ice cream shop, a few restaurants and other shops. We had some ice cream & my husband had a beer at the brewery. Both were very good.

When you say "shallow" how deep was it? my husband loves fish, but can't swim very well. He was held under as a little boy, and still has a pretty good fear of the water. :( I'd love to get him to go on this tour, but we need to stay in an area where he can stand. He is 6'4"

Thank you!

He wouldn't be able to stand regardless of how deep it is due to all of the coral. They do have life jackets available, if that helps!
