Guys,

Still working out what we want to do while in STT and thinking about going over to STJ for the snorkeling at Trunk Bay. Getting there from downtown via cab can't be hard....

How about getting back? Is there a bar/food store that can call a cab?

How long does it take to get from the downtown are (when you get off the ferry) to Trunk Bay

Are there any bars/food/restaurants on that beach? If not are there any on STJ?

We have gone to St. John's Trunk Bay several times on our own from St. Thomas, and there are always plenty of open-air taxis waiting to take you back to Cruz Bay. No need to call. It is probably a 15 minute ride at most. There is a snack bar at Trunk Bay with burgers, dogs, snacks, and drinks available. I don't think they serve alcoholic beverages.

Once at Cruz Bay, there are some bar and grill type restaurants within walking distance and sight of the ferry.

We did this trip a year ago. The taxi's are all over the place on STJ. It's a 10min ride, with a good driver.

Taxi's will wait to fill before they leave, usually not an issue. You can arrange for the taxi driver to pick you up, when they drop you off.

Trunk Bay is soooooooooooooooo nice, it's worth the trip. It's one of the only beaches in the Caribbean that does not have a development all around it. It's in a National park.

Because it's on the north side of the island, you can say that you were swimming in the Atlantic Ocean.
