Christmas Day in Cartegena Columbia

We will be on the Equinox in Cartegena Columbia on Christmas Day. Anyone know if a trip into the walled city to shop would be a waste of time due to the holiday?

Christmas Day is big holiday in Colombia, I never been there during those holidays but I would think most of the shops will be close but that been said, Cartagena is a very beautiful city and I wouldn't skip getting off the ship and walk around just because of that. I would think most of the tourist attractions will be open, you can take a tour with the cruise line or hire a taxi right at the port for a tour of the city, or just grab a taxi to the walled city and just walk around, you will have plenty to see even if is not so much shopping to do. Sorry if I am not very helpful with precise info.

Why not email one of the tour vendors and ask? As locals, they would certainly know what, if anything, is going to be open.

A few you can Google are Lee Miles, Claudia, or Dora.

They are all professional and love their city, I am certain they would be helpful, even if you were not sure you were booking a tour with them.

I would also suggest to post the same question on the tripadvisor cartagena forum. you will get answers from the locals, i always get amazing answers from tripadvisor users.

I'd probably go downtown and hit one of the old churches for Christmas. I would think it would be spectacular.
