San Diego - April 2006

Does anyone know what convention will be going on in San Diego the first part of April 2006?

We will be getting off a cruise ship at that time and we do have our hotel already booked.

But I read on another thread on another board, that a couple of people were having a difficult time booking rooms.

San Diego is a huge convention city...at any time you will find from 8-12 conventions going on in town. If you are willing to stay outside the downtown area you are more likely to find something you can reserve. Try the beach areas, Mission Valley, or "The Mesas" instead of downtown or the Gaslamp.

You can reach the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau at this URL: http://www.sandiego.org/ They could probably tell you the specific events going on that you are concerned with.

Thanks for the website. Like I said, we have our hotel room - Ebassy Suites - but our friends do not.
