March 26, 2013

s.gifs.gifs.gif The President of the United States will visit the Port of Miami on Friday, March 29. Because of his visit, the port and the surrounding streets will temporary close on Friday. During this time, no one will be permitted to enter or leave the port. We also anticipate heavy traffic volume and increased congestion in the area.

We ask that guests on the Friday, March 29, sailing of Majesty of the Seas arrive to the port between 10:30 a.m. and noon, or between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Check in for this sailing will take place between these times. Majesty of the Seas' departure time will be delayed to accommodate this event, but it will not impact the ship's scheduled itinerary.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our guests, and appreciate their cooperation and understanding.

He must have thought I was coming. Remember he did that to us last year on Jewel in Tampa? ;) I would think it could be more congested in Miami with only two roads in an out.

Keep in mind the airport will also be shut down when he arrives and departs. for all of those flying in that day.

Oh bloody heck.... We arrive on Friday 4.30 pm...

Anyone has any idea when the president is departing, so we know whether we're expecting delays?

Yet another reason NOT to fly in the day of a cruise...:D:eek: have to admit this is not a reason that would normally come to mind...
