Taxi FARE in Playa cost?

A group of 4 of us are looking to do a catamaran trip through a company while in Playa for the week.

We have our choice of being picked up at our hotel for $15pp round trip or we can hire our own taxi to take us 15 miles. Any idea what a taxi would cost for 4 people to go 15 miles?

Quick answer, take advantahge of the tour transportation as the taxi fare will be more.

For transfer from CUN to Playa you have several options.

The cheapest is the ADO bus, the price is around $13pp each way and it's a nice bus with AC. They may make a quick stop at another terminal and in Puerto Morelos and it takes 30 -45 minutes longer than a private transfer but a comfortable ride, no charge for bags.

There are shared vans that are parked near the bus which are a little more. Reservations are not needed for either of these options.

Private transfers cost about $110 for 4 ppl and there will be an extra charge for 2 more. Nice van you have to yourselves. We like Canada Transfers, USA is another good one. Canada will deliver bottled water and cold towels to you, and cold beer for $1 - $2 each.
