My daughter is very excited about the chocolate buffet on Star. We have been on two other NCL cruises but never went to the Chocolate buffet. The first question I have is as Suite pax is there a early entrance to this? I think I have read this somewhere before. Also does anyone know what time it is held? Also if anyone has any pictures that they could post that would be great thanks everyone !!!!

Usually is held at midnight I think or a little before. One time on the Spirit it was in the afternoon on a sea day! I liked that better since we are not night owls!! I do not have any pics to share with you. Sorry about that!

I never stayed in a suite so I can't answer that one either :-(

We've cruised Star recently in a suite and the chocoholic buffet was at a more reasonable hour, I forget exactly. You do get early access; your concierge will put a letter in your suite with details.

Now, please don't get your hopes up. Adjust your expectations. We felt it looked much better than it tasted, and that was faint praise.

If you keep a good attitude and just enjoy it for what it is, I'm sure you will have a fun time. Bon Voyage!

Yes ours on the Star was from 7:30 - 9:30

I've never been on the Star, but if you want pics from the Dawn, let me know. I agree with the previous posted about it looking better than it tasted, but it was still cool. Your concierge will either leave you a note or tell you when & where to meet for early access. Enjoy!

We just returned from a cruise on the SUN. The chocolate buffet was held during the dinner hour....at both main dining rooms and the garden cafe. Very unusual but we actually liked it. & this was the first week it was introduced and our server said it was going to be fleet wide. The positive is that you didn't have the crush of people for the "event" and while, the selection seemed smaller, there was none of the repeating of the same dish. There was still some ice sculptures that you could take pictures of. It also seemed like there was not so much waste as we usually view. The only negative I think would be that it does slow down the dinner service - obviously people taking more time with their meals because of the extra desserts. I got up to get a few pieces right after I ordered my meal & again after I finished my main course. Its just not the experience like it was in years past.

Huh. That's an interesting change. I'm not entirely sure what I think about that - could make things feel more crowded.

As promised, here are some pictures from the Dawn Chocolate Buffet a few years ago.

On the Pearl this month it was at 9pm. As suite passengers, we met outside the doors at 8:45 and were let in 15 mins early. It is such a great perk because the madness when they open the doors is crazy. We were glad to be leaving just as the rest were coming in.

Now that I have been to the Chocolate Buffet however, I wouldn't be in a rush to go again. It is very nice and well set up, but how much chocolate can you eat at 9pm....;)

Enjoy!

We were on the Star last Spring Break, and the Chocoholic Buffet was a big hot mess! We didn't get early access, and I REALLY don't like where they had it on the Star (back corner of the buffet area/kids dining area). It was from 7:30-9:30 pm, and by the time we got through EVERYTHING was so messy and picked over. We waited that time in about a 45 minute line! It was so hard to move around, we just ended up leaving.

Since we've been to every chocoholic buffet on every ship, this was highly unusual for NCL, and I let them know it! My dear husband was on the Spirit in September and had early admission, said it made a world of difference. We don't eat off buffets normally, but my husband actually was able to eat of that one. My MIL was extremely impressed with the sugar free options. I'm really looking forward to a great experience in a few weeks when we go on the Spirit.

Just got off the Star today. It is held at 7:30 pm on Thursday. It takes up one half of the buffet area and is nothing like it used to be. Basically they just make a bunch of chocolate items and place them where the buffet food usually is.

The concierge allowed us in 20 minutes early for photos and to sample the items. It is a shadow of what it used to be. If you have never been, I would check it out. If you have been, don't bother.

We just got off the Star today as well. Our concierge asked to meet at 7:10 so she could escort us. Even though it may not be the same as it used to, it was well worth going to
