What is the drink you would recommend a new visitor to Georgetown to try?

For frou-frou frozen blender island drink, the mudslide. This is the signature Cayman drink.

For beer, the Cayman Islands Brewery offers several locally brewed refreshments. Try the White Tip Lager for a cool, light, refreshing beer. Their Ironshore Bock is a darker more complex treat.

For something in a liquor to carry home, award winning Seven Fathoms Rum is locally aged in barrels under the sea. Nothing like it anywhere else in the world!

If you are brave, go to Breeze's by the Bay and have a Category 5 Hurricane drink. Rum, of course, with tropical juice. It was actually really good! Be prepared to hang out and enjoy the ocean views for awhile. You will need a little time to recover.:D:D:D

Yep, have to agree with MichelleinOC. :p A Cat 5 at Breeze's by the Bay has become a must-stop for me (and DH). Best way to start the day in Grand Cayman...after a leisurely breakfast on the ship, of course! Always willing to try something new, too!

I'm writing these down and will definitely try them! I'm going to grab a bottle of seven fathoms rum too!

We were at Breezes by the Bay during our cruise last week and learned that they're closing soon. :( Just saw this news item today that the closing date is April 3. It's a great central location, so hopefully a new owner comes in and makes a go of it.

Hurricane is not exactly a Cayman thing ...

The hurricane is a sweet alcoholic drink made with rum, fruit juice, and syrup or grenadine. It is one of many popular drinks served in New Orleans.

The creation of this passion fruit–colored relative of a daiquiri is credited to New Orleans tavern owner Pat O'Brien. The bar allegedly started as a speakeasy called Mr. O'Brien's Club Tipperary and the password was "storm's brewin.'"

In the 1940s, he needed to create a new drink to help him get rid of all of the less-popular rum that local distributors forced him to buy before he could get a few cases of more popular liquors such as scotch and other whiskeys. He poured the concoction into hurricane lamp–shaped glasses and gave it away to sailors.

The drink caught on, and it has been a mainstay in the French Quarter ever since.

There are several places in Cayman that claim the Mud Slide as their invention .... problem is in my recent experience none of these places make a decent Mudslide but get them from a 'frozen drink maker'

Caybrew IS unique to Cayman, and not bad ....not bad at all . .
