1 day rental car out of Nola

Hi everyone. We'd like to rent a car for the day to see plantations and maybe do swamp tour if there's time. I read there is rental car companies off Canal St. We were thinking Of renting it on Friday (but we're worried about traffic) I think I read the rental companies close half day on Sat. Does anyone have any info/ thoughts on this? thx for all your help.

We always do a rental car when we are in New Orleans. There is a Budget Rental Car on Canal Street. You can get a one-day rental in New Orleans for $50-60 depending on what you want to drive.

A rental car definitely gives you the flexibility to sightsee around the city. If you rent the car on Friday around 10:00 am....then be prepared to return it on Saturday by 10:00 am
