China/Japan cruise

In just over a week we are cruising from Shanghai, stoping in S. Korea and then onto stops in Japan. If anyone has done a cruise in this part of the world, at this time of year could you tell me if the sea days will be warm enough to sunbathe by the pool deck? Also wondering how choppy the seas were between these countries? (Prone to seasickness, will be taking seabands and tablets just incase)

Generally speaking - ocean/sea temperature is still relatively warm this time of the year in Shanghai (PVG) PRC but will typically be lowered as ship sail further north toward SK - assumed you will be heading to Bushan & then onward to Japan via the East Sea.

Here's link to sea temperature & weather for your home port region - scroll around & you can look up Bushan & other ports for Japan.

For ocean waves & currents, the areas off the coast of mainland China are likely remaining rough in the coming days ... still typhoon season, just had 2 big ones that spin around along the Pacific, landfall over Taiwan & then onward toward coastal China - even now, showing 30' plus seas. Should settle down a bit, hopefully, next week to less choppy - you are prepared, but might want to stock some extra. Closer toward South Korea & Japan's coastal area - charts showing 5' to 15' waves ... surely, your ship's captain will plot a course for optimal sailing in comfort as best as they can.

Have a safe & smooth voyage with your cruise.

We did the Japan and China cruise last year. It started in late October. It was a little chilly for the pool until we arrived in Okinawa.

We have been to China in September (your cruise is between our trips) and the temp was warm to hot for our entire 21 days.

It might be warm enough for the pool and sunbathing. We didn't encounter choppy seas.
