Radiance Chef's Table - Have You Been?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if you have recently tried the Chef's Table onboard Radiance?

What were your thoughts? Was it worth it?

If you have any information on the menu or photos, I'd love to have a sneak peak! :)

Thanks in advance!

We have done Chefs table on the Radiance many times, most recently on the NYE cruise. It has always been nothing less than fantastic. I don't want to post photos here because I don't have specific permission from fellow diners to do so. You can email me and I'm happy to send you photos.

You will be met outside the Dining Room and handed a glass of Moët. Once everyone is there you will be escorted into the room and to your seats. The night is elegant (please take the time to dress up) but immense fun - and the wine and food ain't bad either:D

Cheers

Di

Everyone I've spoken to has raved about Chef's Table, so I will give my not so rave review. The host spent most of the evening telling us how exclusive, premium and fine dining the evening was, this made me feel exactly the opposite. I prefer understated, I don't need someone telling me how much I am enjoying myself.

Similarly the chef went to great lengths to tell us how incredible the food was, when I found it fairly unimpressive. Don't get me wrong, it was nice, but not amazing (as I was continually reminded it was by the chef and host).

The company was great though, we made friends we kept in touch with for the whole cruise.

I will say the food in Chop's, Giovanni's and Izumi's was very good, I would go to each of those at least once on any future cruise I do, whereas I will not be going back to Chef's Table.

We've done Chef's Table twice. The first time was fantastic but I did not enjoy the second as much. The food I thought was not as good the second time. If I was on Radiance again I would probably not bother for a third time. That said I think it is an experience worth having. You do end up with a very nice cookery book signed by the chef.

We liked Giovanni's Table as well and the other main specialty restaurant but have not eaten in the Mexican one.

We did the Chefs Table and it was worth every cent. We met some great people, ate and drank well and had a great time. Our first course was served by the Captain and the Hotel Director. When I came back from the bathroom the captain opened the door for me, very impressive!!

Thanks everyone for your responses! Very excited to say we have booked for Chef's Table and am looking forward to the experience!

Do you have allocated seating? We are dinning with another couple on the one dinner reservation made online and would like to be seated together

You do have assigned seats, but as we walked in they let us know that we could change the seating if we would prefer.

One thing about the Radiance, the room for the Chef's Table is right next to the Colony Club where they hold some events. We were treated to the soundtrack of The Hunger Games throughout our meal and then walked out to a VERY large crowd for a male vs female event. Not a problem for us, but it could have bothered other people...

My wife and I loved the Chef's table on Radiance. We learned a great deal about wines, saki and various meals. It was a bit of an 'experience' the time we did it because one of the participants was having a birthday and he had been drinking since 10am. Luckily he was not too much of an obnoxious drunk - just rather entertaining though his (sober) wife was a bit embarrassed by him and we were fortunate the staff handled him very well!

  • 3 weeks later...

Just wanted to post back, we dined at Chef's Table and absolutely loved it.

The table setting was elegant and each dish was described by the chef in detail including details on how each dish is prepared. Each dish was wine matched, with a sommelier presenting and describing each wine.

Glasses were topped up as well.

Just amazing and definitely worth it!!
