Explorer is coming

Recommended Posts

As posted in the Rhapsody is going thread:

Dear Adrian,

We are excited to announce that you are among the first to hear about some exciting news that Royal Caribbean International announced today.

Explorer of the Seas will join the region's local fleet in November 2015. This 3,800-guest megaliner is part of the Voyager Class of ships and is the sister ship to Voyager of the Seas. Both ships will be based in Sydney and will share the prestigious mantel of 'Australia's biggest megaliner'. Explorer of the Seas replaces Rhapsody of the Seas, which will leave the local fleet in April 2015 after eight successive seasons.

Radiance of the Seas will return to the region again for the 2015-2016 Australia New Zealand cruise season and continue to sail on her popular itineraries, with a focus on cruising in the South Pacific and around Australia.

Royal Caribbean's South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand 2015-16 cruise season will be on sale from Tuesday 29 April 2014.

Yes, she is due for her refurb in Feb 2015.:)

She will be getting a flow rider, 3D movie theatre & the new virtual balconies for inside cabins as well as the usual upgrades.

Cool

And along with legend will be a good mix

It's all still a bit up in the air, are we getting 2 new ships or just one? Explorer is going to the UK at least until Sept 2015 according to a recent RCCL news release so is she then coming to Australia?

I guess all will be revealed soon enough, I just wish we could get a few new itineraries our of Sydney.

From the above, it may also mean that Voyager is going.

Did all the C&A members get this e-mail from RCCL? I didn't.

I didn't get one either.

But no information about Legend yet...

Will she do Australia/NZ as well, or just Asia than??

I have been told we are definitely getting legend

The sep ta would fit with normal arrivals to Australia for each season

We get two new ships and lose one

I can't see that happening.

If we get Legend then I'd expect Voyager to also go as implied above.

Now if it was August that Explorer was coming from the UK we might be able to escort her.

They're big screens showing an outside view.

Perhaps the thinking is that they will send the big ships because the ports where they can actually dock are limited and there is far more to do on the mammoth ships on sea days.

There are downsides however.......

Imagine 3,800 people all going down with Norovirus , at the same time....

Thanks for answering:) that sounds like a great idea, as long as the screen has reasonable resolution and they keep the cameras lens clean.
