12 year old vs the rock wall

i have a few questions about the rock wall. im going to be on the Jewel of the Seas this coming december. i've climbed a rock wall once but it wasn't 20stories over the sea! when you climb, does each person have thier own blayer? is it scary?? does the adventure club have a time where they go up to the rock wall with only the kids?? if someone can help, that would be great!

Each climber has their own person to assist them. I saw children much youger than 12 on the wall.

Donuts, is there anything they can't do....

Each person gets special climbing shoes, a hard hat, and a harness. There is a staff member controlling the ropes and they're tied down to the ship itself. I never saw the Adventure Club up there with kids as children under 18 must have a parent present and the parent must sign the waiver for them every day you try to climb. Kids it seemed had a much easier time climbing than the adults (myself included). It was only scary the first time I tried because I wasn't used to it but after that it wasn't bad. The staff is very good and will help you out if you don't know where to put your foot/hand next.

Each climber has a staff member to guide the rope. The wall has sections for different levels of climbers.

Last year, my 10 year daughter was on the advanced climber side of the wall and whipping all challengers. She's a gymnast.

Don't wait for any special kids times. Go when the wall is open.

For what it's worth - On sea days the line for the wall can get somewhat long. We found there to be very short or no wait times in the morning.

A couple of weeks ago my 8 year old grandson, who celebrated his birthday on the ship went all the way to the top(with a little help). Should be no problem for a 12 year old. Have at it and have a ball.

Our 7 year old daughter went up first time and rang the bell. The staff is most helpful for first timers.
