question about toiletries in carry on

At first I was lead to believe that everything that went into the quart bag had to be in the original labeled container. In re-reading the TSA requirements I would say only medications need the be in the original and labeled containers.

You are fine as long as the container itself is less than 3.0 ounces (or whatever ounce limit they are saying now). Just be aware that not all "travel" size bottles and products that are currently on the market are small enough to comply with the TSA regs. Make sure to read the labels and go for the smallest size you can find.
