The biggest problem is that obviously help would take forever to show up, you'd just have to hope they took the correct angle to get around the storm and that the storm didn't do anything it wasn't supposed to.

Interestingly, it is not terribly uncommon for some of those stacked semi-trailers to fall off into the ocean with all their goods.

Actually, the entire cruise industry is under the microscope. It just so happens these issues are happening to Carnival. The cheapest of the cruise lines owned by CCL. Could there be a connection between uber cheap and maintenance issues? It would only be speculation (which we're allowed to do on a message board)...

My guess is CCL will cancel the next sailing for March 17. If they could not fix it in Costa Maya, there is no way that they would risk taking passengers to sea with a known propulsion issue. Plus I would think if they let that cruise sail in light of the other problems that CCL is dealing with. I just could not imagine the PR if something happen. Carnival sure would not what that at this point.

I hope I'm wrong. But I just don't see that they would have any other choice.

Happened to me on the Diamond Princess years ago. Ship hit the dock on cruise right before ours, damaged a pod, they had to run on low speed until they could fix it. I was just getting to bed a few moment's ago after late work and heard about Legend now too... just chiming in without reading all here...I am so sorry for Carnival..but something is off..just seems to be too much with these situations...could not believe it when turned on news as i got into bed...which I should not do...Good Night and Dear Carnival Good Luck...

Still not concerned. If anything goes wrong with breeze in the next 23 days I know which ship I want to change to however the fact that the breeze already had a fire it should be tip top plus its less than a year old but then again took my car to a mechanic last week only for it to have another issue take it out of commission. Things happen.

That's exactly my thoughts! ... and yes, we're booked on the transatlantic. To be honest, I will actually feel a bit more confident sailing next month because I'm sure Legend will be given a thorough check after this.

4 ships? Which 4...There was the Triumph and the Dream. I don't count the Legdend. It missed 1 port to to a bit of prupulsion issue...That happens more than anyone would ever know on every line. It was ONLY reported due to the issue witht he Triupmh and the Dream. Media is the problem not Carnival.

But this morning, I see others had posted overnight, and he is now acknowleging.

But as opposed to saying they missed a port, he is claiming they are all having a brilliant time.

TV here in KY also made a note about the Legdend like I said above nut its just a but of a purpulsion issue. But normally you NEVER here about a small purpulsion issue on the news. Its just the media making thinks bad not Carnival.

I keep seeing it on the news but can't find anything from Carnival stating the events of anything with the Legend. Funny, they did the same thing with the Dream...took them forever to even acknowledge that there was a problem.
