This is a very helpful thread. I was wondering if you could add another description? Bed Orientation for window and obstructed cabins.

I took a survey a while back and had a lot of interest in this subject. It would be nice to know if you have a window or obstructed cabin if the bed was against the wall or under the window. It helped me choose a cabin based on info I gathered. All the pictures Princess uses show bed under window but that is not accurate in the majority of cabins on most ships.

It is also helpful to know if bunk beds are obtrusive as I learned many are.

If you would like the info I gathered I'd be happy to email it to you.

Thank you.

Ship: Caribbean, Diamond, Golden, Grand, Sapphire, Star

Class: Mini-suite

Deck: Dolphin

Stateroom #: Caribbean, Golden, Grand & Star - D732 & 733. Diamond & Sapphire - D736 & 737

Category: MD

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Last aft mini

Connects With Cabin #: no

Accessible: sort of...large doors and handicapped bathroom, but not approved as accessible

Quiet: VERY. End of the hall and only a couple of neighbors

Balcony Size: oversized, but did not measure

View: Excellent, can see forward and aft as well as ocean

Privacy Issues: see "quiet"

Wind: no issues

Soot: no

Problems: only problem we had was the room service people tried to go out the wrong door. If you have the queen bed configuration, the walking space between the bed and storage unit is a little tight.

Ship: Golden Princess, Hawaii

Class: Grand-Class NP

Deck: Sun Deck 15

Stateroom #S703

Category: Penthouse Suite

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Starboard Aft portion. We liked it!

Connects With Cabin #None

Accessible: No!

Quiet: Most of the time! Watch out for early morning activity on the deck above. Rearrangement of chairs from the night before. I was awake anyway and the wife slept through it.

Balcony Size: Nice but a little narrow.

View: Fantastic, high up with good line of sight.

Privacy Issues: None!

Wind: Some wind but nothing compared to the plains of Oklahoma

Soot: None!

Problems: The biggest issue was the limited # of elevators that when to the 15 Deck. Only 2 elevators and they were also the ones that went to Skywalkers and it was difficult at time to get one. A couple of time with the toilet not flushing properly. Always fixed immediately.

Comments: This was also a fantastic suite and we would recommend it. Perfect for cruise to Hawaii!

Photos: Yes, attached.

Comments – Cabin has a non-standard layout. Was a storage area that was remodeled into a balcony cabin at some point. Enter from the side, has two desk areas and storage cabinets w/doors. Was slightly roomier than standard cabin. Nice location, aft end of corridor w/little traffic. Oversized odd-shaped balcony. Quick access to Terrace Pool, buffet and Lido deck.

Comments – Nice location, aft end of corridor w/little traffic. Balcony is slightly smaller due to curvature of the back of the ship. There is also a support column running through the balcony. Neither we felt were any issue – enjoyed the Aft views.

Ship: Caribbean Princess

Class: Caribbean-Class

Deck: Riviera 14

Stateroom # R415 San Juan Suite

Category: Penthouse Suite

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Starboard Mid-ship

Connects With Cabin #

Accessible: No!

Quiet: Mostly quiet. Very little noise from the elevators being so close. People were considerate! However it’s right under the Lido and the Scoops and at night there is some noise above from MUTS. But the main noise is from the crew rearranging chairs in the morning around 6:00am.

Balcony Size: Very similar to the balcony on the Golden Princess. Nice but a little narrow!

View: Fantastic, high up enough to have a great view at all harbors.

Privacy Issues: None!

Wind: Some wind but nothing that would spoil a cruise aboard a Princess Cruise Ship!

Soot: None!

Problems: There were no problems or issues that reared their ugly heads. It was a great cabin and a great cruise!

Comments: This was another fantastic suite and like before, we would recommend it.

Photos: None, but then it was just the same as the Golden Princess Suite S703! Please refer to post #46.

Accessible not accessible but did successfully store and charged my powered wheelchair in hall area of the cabin using electrical socket near the cabin door. However width of cabin door insufficient to allow access for unfolded chair.

Quiet Generally quiet except for noise of thrusters used when entering or leaving port. Please note no sound heard from Club Fusion.

Balcony Size Covered extended width balcony. Approximately double normal width of mini suite balcony allowing aft and forward views. Furnished with two adjustable deck chairs, two footstools and a table. Request for extra chairs refused.

View Excellent aft, forward and below.

Privacy Issues no problems but stewards tended to gather in cabin when we were absent.

Wind No problem

Soot No problem

Problems Please note that although this is described as a four bed cabin the fourth bed which is a sofa bed is not suitable to sleep on. The bed does not have a flat base or an acceptable mattress.

Comments[/quote] a great cabin in a quiet location. Near laundrette and emergency exit. However atrocious fourth bed will preclude us from booking it again.
