how to get to airport after cruise

Recommended Posts

Take a cab....even if you're going to Miami, for 2 of you it's the easiest, fastest, and most cost efficient. Now if you have the entire day to spend, look at other options! If you leave no later than 1, cab it!

We're flying out of MIA. Our flight doesn't leave to around 3. I finally got a hold of RC (took an hr. when they kept saying 5 min.) I can get a transfer for $16.80 apiece. That's $33.60 for both of us. Are you sure taxi is cheaper? A website priced it out at $45.

I don't think there's any shore excursions. It doesn't show any.

We will be taking a cruise from the Port of Miami in Oct. Our hotel provides free transport to the cruise, but wondering what to do when the cruise is done. Can we arrange something on the ship? It's just my husband and I. How much do you think it will cost?

You can take a taxi. On the ship you can book a bus that will take you to the airport or you can book an excursion that will take you to the Everglades and then to the airport.

I've done the taxi. It is about $26 plus tip. I've also done the excursion ...

Yes....the taxi is cheaper and faster. There are TONS lined up. You will, however, have a LONG time to wait, if your flight isn't until 3....you will be off the ship before 10 am, and that's if you linger! They want the ship cleared ASAP, so hanging around isn't much fun!

Cruizer, I wish we got to do the Everglades tour coming back from our TA, but there was such a delay in getting off and thru customs, we missed the tour along with over 200 passengers missing their Post Cruise Tour. Next time.

Normally the tours meet somewhere on the ship and the group gets priority debarkation (with an escort) so that everyone makes it to the tour.

Since your flight doesn't leave until 3 PM -- take a tour -- there will be a couple that will be offered that drops you off at the end at the airport.

We have done the Everglades tour -- it is excellent.

Your luggage will go right onto the bus.

You will not be able to check in your luggage early at the airport.

You might consider Luggage Direct from RCI.

We met beforehand, but weren't allowed off. Customs were so backed up with our coming off the TA, we finally were called shortly after 10, but weren't outside with luggage until 11, Many never made their flights. That had to have been the worst disembarkation we had ever seen. I know some were still trying to get off around 11. I believe they didn't start allowing passengers back on until after 1 PM.
