Default Jitney Timing/Taxi Question for Nassau

My DH and 2 DS and I are going to the Sheraton while in Nassau. My mom wants to go to the Atlantis casino, but I don't feel comfortable with her traveling to and from by herself.

Would I be crazy to meet her back at Atlantis? Is the Jitney readily available to pick up from the Sheraton to Atlantis and how long is the ride? Or are there a lot of taxis available at Atlantis and is it safe for one woman to take from hotel back to port? Is it easy to find the ships from where the taxi drops off?

Don't think I'm nuts but the old brood worries me. Thanks for the help.

There are no jitneys allowed on Paradise Island, so that means no jitneys to Atlantis.
You're best bet is a cab from Sheraton to Atlantis, then she can cab back to the port when she's done. It's safe for a women traveling alone, taxi drop is just outside the port gate.

Keep in mind that it might be difficult to meet up with your mom at Atlantis, since most areas are restricted, and the casino is off limites to kids.

I know this isn't what you asked, but Sheraton has a casino too (Crystal Palace). It's not as nice as Atlantis but it's still a good time.

Your mom should be fine getting to Atlantis and back on her own. Taxis are right outside the port and right outside Atlantis. She'll probably be sharing a taxi (usually a van) with other cruisers.

Crystal Palace is not open on a daily basis, and will be less and less available over the coming year.

If the OP is at the Sheraton they can check to see if it's open.. if not.. then on to the Atlantis. 2014 will open the new casino.

It's open on a limited schedule.. however, noone (not even the hotel) seems to know what the schedule is.
We had heard that it was going to be open only 13 weekends this year. Which weekend.. who knows.

They are not very good at keeping us posted.
