PCI-605-- Rain Forest and Gaton Lake and Locks

Has any one taken this excursion, through Princess, or any other cruise line?

It involves a nature walk through the jungles around the Melia Resort, a catamaran ride through the lake, and Gaton Locks? We liked that this excursion is not as long as the other ones, which I can't handle--

If we don't do this one then we will stay on board the ship--- which I would rather not do, because there are many sea days on this partial Panama Canal cruise. We are also concerned how long a wait to then board the ship in colon after this excursion? Just trying to understand the whole deal, before we decide. Thanks in advance for info.

Assuming you are docked, and not going thru the 1st set of locks into Lake Gatun, this is really the only way you'll get off the ship. If your ship is doing a "partial" and going into the lake, there is no need for an excursion...the trip thru the 1st set of locks IS the excursion!

After the excursion, you can get right back on the ship...it's sitting there, waiting for you! The passengers who don't take an excursion can get off and go to the "Flea Market" that is on the dock....a bunch of useless stuff, but a good way to stretch your legs!
