Default Suggestion: Mongolian station

I want to say that I loved my last NCL cruise and found it superior in every way to my experience on a competing cruise line except for one: the Asian/Mongolian station. On this other cruise line, they made food to order using ingredients chosen by the passengers including different kinds of sauces with different levels of spiciness. This was one of my favorite places to visit while on that cruise and it's the one thing I miss on NCL. Other than that, keep up the good work!

Sorry the question wasn't answered, but I would love to know which line had this.

They didn't have it on Glory. That sucks. We were just on her in November.

Default NCL has it

I saw this on the Epic a couple of weeks ago, and it was on the Sun last January. Both were in the buffet area.

That's good news! Too bad they don't do it on the other ships.

Wait... Was this an area where they make stuff to order or was it a chef making one dish and then dumping it into a tray at the buffet? If it's the latter, that's not what we're talking about.

You go through the line and pick everything you want - give that plate/bowl to the chef who asks you what you want in the way of spices (barbeque, mongolian...) and they fry it up and hand it back to you. Takes a significant amount of time to work your way through the line - my one objection was they put a lot of water in it to make it cook up faster and so it wasn't my idea of a tru stir fry....

Didn't Carnival recently stop doing this because it was taking too much time and the lines too long?

Possibly. I was on Carnival over a year and a half ago. Shame. It was the only "perk" of going back.

As others have said, Nowegian's buffet does offer something similar in the buffet. You pick out your ingredients and they cook it in small woks. The selection isn't stellar, but it's ok. A big mongolian grill would take up a lot of space, so I'm happy with this compromise.
