Question for Bonnie re Quest May 1st Dubai/Athens

When we booked this cruise many moons ago there were a few shipboard excursions for Haifa which have now disappeared. There is nothing for May 14th and just a couple of "Insider Access" for May 15th. Meantime, looking at the forum everyone seems to be joining up and doing their own thing for Haifa! Are there any shipboard excursions planned? and if so when.

I was on this cruise and unfortunately had to cancel. I rebooked for a similar cruise in 2018 and when I looked at the shore excursions for Israel there were a wide variety to choose from already. So, I cannot understand, like the OP, why there are none for this year's cruise.

There has already been a thread about this and despite Bonnie checking there has never been an answer.

Hi Are you against private tours ? We have room in our small group for Jerusalem/Behlehem on the first day. There are a couple of references to it on our roll call.

Not against private tours at all! Have had some wonderful ones and some not so wonderful. It's just that we've got lots of OBC to spend. Have read up on the tours available on the forum and might well get back to you.

Peter and Janet - I have asked Bonnie about this also. We are on your sailing on the Quest on May 1 and while we are not opposed to private tours, we have a lot of onboard credit also and, therefore, wanted to use it for ships tours. Hopefully Bonnie will be able to find something out for us.

It's been 10 days since I mentioned this and I guess you have heard nothing back and as I understand there has been another thread about this also with a nil result so do you now think I should organise some excursions myself as other people seem to be doing?

The price we paid for the Azamara cruises were just too good to give up. So we decided to keep with this cruise - and the Singapore to Dubai - keep the Constellation on May 19 and cancel the TA. If we bypass Israel so be it.

We also have a large amount of OBC, and as we are doing a private overnight tour to Petra there will be limited opportunities to use it on ship tours (and we are unable to use it in the casino).

I follow the Azamara forum and Bonnie your responses have always been first class. I cannot understand why there is no official (or unofficial) comment.

I do apologize for the delay. I am expecting there will be Land Discoveries offered. I believe the tour department is working on them. If I hear otherwise I'll let you know.

CRUISERTN We too are interested in using our generous OBC on ship excursions but as first time Azamara cruisers, really don't understand the procedure to book online. I have read that we must wait until we board and then take a chance that all tours may be filled. We are on the 4th June cruise out of Istanbul.

New to Azamara and wondering if we can use our OBC to prebook items. This is especially true as we have the "Like" package which contains OBC reserved for excursions.

Thanks! That gives the unsurprising answer. The real question is with the new promotion, some of the OBC is reserved for Excursions. I am not sure why anyone would upgrade those packages if they couldn't take advantage of the OBC to book early.

What happens when I have OBC I can't use for anything other than an excursion, yet the excursions I want are gone because I had to wait until boarding to use it?

Exactly !! Hopefully, Bonnie will enlighten us or some kind, experienced Azamara cruiser will have a solution. :)

Not sure what the "Like" package is. We have generous OBC which, as far as I know, doesn't contain restrictions.

UPDATE: The tours for Israel on the Azamara Quest voyage May 1st are now available. They will be shown in the downloadable brochure as of tomorrow, 1/16/16.
