Is Cable Car exit near donkey exit in Santorini?

Some of the people in our group want to take the cable car to Fira and others want to take the donkey. We'd like to be able to meet up at the top so how far are both exits from each other?

Thanks. Looks like it's no problem to meet up afterwards.

Problem might be the timing.

Not how long it takes to go up, but knowing how long a wait you'll have with both cablecar & donkeys.

Can I suggest you arrange to meet at the Zafora bar-restaurant, just a few yards sea-wards from the top cablecar station.

Not Santorini's finest bar, but OK for a beer or a coffee while you wait - and a glorious panoramic view over the caldera & ships & such.

Or mebbe first check out the lines at both cablecar & donkeys, to be sure one of them isn't inordinately-long.

At the beginning of my latest review on Santorini I have given the low-down on both the Cable car and the Donkeys.

Here is the link...

I guess the coordination of timing is going to be your problem - Oh, and the crowds...

Excellent blog post Richard, thanks for sharing. I particularly enjoyed your descriptions of the walking & ancient Thira. Have saved it just in case, altho Santorini is not a favourite of mine, just too touristy, but perhaps an out of season visit....

& you may be interested in reading this, or any of the many other online articles about animal welfare issues regarding Santorini's donkeys . A large donkey rescue charity is involved, trying to improve these poor beast's lives -

Please don't use the donkeys. It's mean to expect them to haul people up 588 steps in the heat.

They're mules, they're bred for the job.

And I've seen fat tourists rightly turned away by the operators.
