Is Cable Car exit near donkey exit in Santorini?

Some of the people in our group want to take the cable car to Fira and others want to take the donkey. We'd like to be able to meet up at the top so how far are both exits from each other?

The distance at the top between exit cable car en top of the stairs is about 300 meters or 0,2 mile and is a 4 minutes walk, depending how busy it is in the narrow streets. Distance below at the Old Port is only 50 meters or 160 ft. Hope this helps.

No, won't be problem at all. There also are several signs showing the direction to the cable car.

Problem might be the timing.

Not how long it takes to go up, but knowing how long a wait you'll have with both cablecar & donkeys.

Can I suggest you arrange to meet at the Zafora bar-restaurant, just a few yards sea-wards from the top cablecar station.

Not Santorini's finest bar, but OK for a beer or a coffee while you wait - and a glorious panoramic view over the caldera & ships & such.

Excellent blog post Richard, thanks for sharing. I particularly enjoyed your descriptions of the walking & ancient Thira. Have saved it just in case, altho Santorini is not a favourite of mine, just too touristy, but perhaps an out of season visit....

Please don't use the donkeys. It's mean to expect them to haul people up 588 steps in the heat.

And I've seen fat tourists rightly turned away by the operators.
